扇 - ōgi(Folding fan) This form, with two connected fans, was the very first shape I began creating in my tapestry work. It was born from my desire to express a sense of flowing beauty. I used an obi with a Michinaga pattern in soft pink beige and gold, shaping it with care to preserve the movement and sense of expansion created by the repeating fan form. The Michinaga pattern is a classical design made up of layered flowing curves reminiscent of clouds or mist, long appreciated for its graceful sense of movement and courtly elegance. Within its calm and refined palette, the woven gold glimmers softly, bringing a gentle radiance to the space where it is displayed. 扇がふたつ連なるこの形は、私がタペストリー制作のなかで最初に作り始めたかたちです。流れるような美しさを表現したいという思いから生まれました。ピンクベージュとゴールドのやわらかな色合いを持つ道長文様の帯を用い、扇が連続することで生まれる動きと広がりを大切にしながら仕立てています。道長文様は、雲や霞のようにたなびく曲線を重ねた意匠で、やわらかな流れや雅やかな趣を感じさせる古典柄として親しまれてきました。上品で穏やかな色調の中に金の織りがさりげなくきらめき、空間にやさしい華やかさを添えてくれる一枚です。
