扇 -Ogi- This tapestry was created from a vintage Japanese obi with a striking fan motif in black, gold, and vivid red. In Japanese design, the fan is considered an auspicious symbol. Because its shape opens outward, it is often associated with expansion, prosperity, and a bright future. The obi also features traditional motifs such as chrysanthemums, pine, and geometric patterns, giving the piece a celebratory and distinctly Japanese atmosphere. The center is shaped with a three-dimensional fold inspired by the art of tying an obi.
