花更紗 -Hanasarasa- (Floral Chintz) This piece was created from an obi featuring hana sarasa, with exotic flowers flowing freely across a warm vermilion ground, and shaped into a three-dimensional form through soft volume and moving pleats. Since ancient times, plant motifs have been regarded as symbols of the fundamental flow of life, and their vigorous, ever-extending forms have been cherished as auspicious designs celebrating longevity and enduring vitality.
